Hallo Ihr Lieben,

ich höre gerade ein wenig Folk-Musik und dabei fiel mir ein, dass wir noch keinen Folk-Thread in der Musikabteilung haben. Gedacht, getan und ich starte hier mal mit einer etwas unbekannteren amerikanischen Folkmusikerin, Kate Wolf. Sie ist leider schon 1986 mit 44 Jahren an Leukämie gestorben.

Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr zahlreich Eure Lieblings-Folk-Titel postet und bin gespannt, was wir alles hören werden.

Damit es schön gemütlich wird, entführe ich euch nach Limerick in einen traditionellen Irish Pup.

Im äußeren Nordwesten des europäischen Festlandes, in der Bretagne, ist das Harfenspiel ein wesentlicher Bestandteil der traditionellen Musik.

Im wunderbaren Glencoe in den schottischen Highlands ist diese schöne Aufnahme enstanden.

Weiter geht unsere Reise in den Norden und wir treffen in Norwegen auf Eivør Pálsdóttir. Die kommt sogar von den Färöer-Inseln weit draußen im Nordatlantik und ihre Musik mutet für europäische Verhältnisse durchaus ungewöhnlich an;

Mit diesem Beitrag möchte ich mich für heute Abend verabschieden und hoffe, das euch diese kleine Auswahl gefallen hat und Anregung gibt, eine große Bandbreite an Folk-Musik zu posten.

Oh, jetzt bist du mir ja doch noch zuvor gekommen.
Ich hätte es zwar jetzt "Volksmusik" genannt. Aber gemeint hatte ich das selbe.

Gehört zu meinen Lieblings-Gesangsgruppen:



Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Milena Roudeva, Kontra-Alt.
Genau meine Lage, und daher ein großes Vorbild, das ich wohl nie mehr auch nur annähernd erreichen werde.



Hier hört man sie sogar sprechen, u.a. auch über ihre Stimme, allerdings auf Französisch. (Anschließend kommt noch ein Lied.)

Nachtrag: Eins hätte ich da noch

Französischsprachige Folk-Musik aus den USA?

Die Musik der ursprünglich aus Frankreich stammenden und über Kanada in den Süden der USA, nach Louisiana gezogenen Akadianer (nein, keine Indianer), nennt man Cajun music.
